Gastroenterology Locum consultant.

7 Telephone (remote) or F2F clinics per week. 9 New patients per clinic

2 Paper clinics per week

1 Admin session

Main duties of the job

You will join our team of 10 consultants, supported by our IBS and IBD nurses and team of dieticians, as well as our Gastro Pharmacist. The post is a fixed term position to support with either telephone or face to face clinics.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Deliver Direct Clinical Care to patients, through all parts of the Department assisting clinical decision-making and sharing equally in the workload.
  • Work with existing consultants and the multi-disciplinary team to provide a high quality well-led service for patients of Ashford & St Peter’s, including the diagnosis, investigations, treatment and management of patients, in accordance with Trust policies and practices
  • Have a continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, ensuring safe handover as appropriate

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (or CCT) by the time of taking up the post or be accredited for inclusion on the General Medical Council’s Specialist Register.
