About the role
King’s is seeking to appoint a new Academic Lead for its partnership with the Rosalind Franklin Institute (RFI), a UKRI institute located in Harwell, Oxfordshire. The institute’s research includes work on multidimensional imaging, spatial biochemistry, AI, chemical manipulation in vivo, quantitative biology, and pathogen/cell interactions – please follow this link for further details.
The RFI opened its new building in autumn 2021, and the current director, Professor Paul Matthews, who started in spring 2024, brings a strong emphasis on collaboration. Looking ahead, there is scope to scale up collaboration, exploring new areas and progressing to larger collaborations and joint grants.
Applicants should have relevant research expertise, experience of academic leadership, and a genuine enthusiasm to further develop the partnership.
This is a 0.1 FTE position, reporting to the Senior Vice-President (Health and Life Sciences), and the Vice-President (Research and Innovation), offered to academic staff as an additional opportunity.
To apply, please submit a CV and short statement of interest to rfi_partnership@kcl.ac.uk by Monday 8th December 2025 – please ensure you have discussed your intentions with your Head of Department before applying.
