Cambridge City Council is seeking an Independent Living Supervisor to lead a team of Independent Living Facilitators delivering tailored support for older residents in sheltered housing and across the city.
You’ll play a key role in safeguarding, partnership working, and service improvement, helping to ensure that our residents receive the right support at the right time.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll:
Oversee needs and risk assessments
Coordinate multi-agency support for complex cases
Promote social inclusion and community engagement
Ensure health and safety standards are met
The successful applicant will be committed to supporting older and vulnerable residents to live independently and with dignity. They will bring strong leadership and interpersonal skills, enabling them to manage and motivate a team effectively.
A sound understanding of safeguarding and housing-related support is essential, along with experience in working collaboratively across agencies. The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to build rapport in a non-judgemental and empathetic way with people from diverse backgrounds, and confidence in using digital tools to support service delivery.
Applicants should be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities, and proactive in identifying service improvements. A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion is vital, and we welcome applications from individuals with lived experience and from all backgrounds.
The susessful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS and must be able to travel arround the city by Car or Bike.

Hours: This is a full-time role, for 37 hours per week.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £37,280 – £41,771 per annum (City Pay Band 5), pro rata for part time.
Location: This is flexible – working in Cambridge on site or at one of our offices or working from home. You will be able to balance your work location accordingly.
