About the role

Tennyson Lodge is a vibrant and busy centre providing support for adults with a Learning Disability, where they participate in fun and engaging activities to empower them to maintain their independence, skills, and well-being.

The centre is open from 9am-4pm Monday to Friday.

The role will include promoting life skills development, and providing planned activities, you will need to have commitment and enthusiasm towards working with people with a disability.

About you

We offer excellent training and development opportunities, you will need the commitment to complete training and qualifications and learn new skills whilst working alongside a supportive team.

You will need to have a proficient level of written and spoken English for theĀ purposes of case recording and to enable you to work towards aĀ qualification in Health and Social Care if you do not already hold this qualification.

As a Support Worker, you will not need to have experience of supporting a person with a disability as training will be provided for the right candidate. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as IT skills are required.

You will be able to demonstrate commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion principles and anti-discriminatory practice.Ā  A good understanding of equal opportunities, person centred approach and diversity are all essential. Sometimes you will be lone working but will also work as part of the team in group activities.
