JOB PURPOSE

As a Senior Accountant at Burberry, you will be responsible for the record to report (RTR) activities, month end processes and reporting for a variety of functions across the UK & Ireland for Burberry. This is a varied finance role with a commercial focus, lots of stakeholder visibility and the opportunity to manage a small but effective team.

 

This Senior Accountant role is offered on a full time, permanent basis and will be based in our Queen Street, Leeds office on a hybrid basis (2 days per week in office)

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Reconciliation, review and approval of RTR balances and manual journal adjustments for various UK and Ireland entities
  • Preparing and reviewing  RTR reports for internal and external reporting
  • Acting as a key contact and subject matter expert for the wider Finance team and external auditors
  • Responsibility for managing stakeholders across the business, resolving complex issues creatively and working collaboratively with all.
  • Responding to a significant number of ad hoc queries, and analysis as required, prioritising work effectively to ensure that these queries are managed within SLA's
  • Supporting and reviewing of work for 2 direct reports, providing regular feedback, coaching and development
  • Ensuring compliance with Burberry Group policies, including operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting

PERSONAL PROFILE

 

  • Qualified Accountant/Finalist within an accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or similar)
  • Practical accounting experience within industry (listed/multinational/multicurrency experience a plus)
  • Experience in application of IFRS & UK GAAP
  • Intermediate/advanced Excel capability essential
  • Exceptional communication skills across all levels, to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Excellent attention to detail, able to prioritise and work while managing complexity
