This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Senior Data Analyst with proven commercial acumen to join our award-winning Travel business.

The role will involve working closely with the Head of Data & Analytics and  cross-functional management teams to understand the reporting needs of the business. Using strong commercial expertise, the new Senior Data Analyst will work with key stakeholders within the business and develop reporting/dashboard solutions that use data to inform self-serve decision making across the business.

You will understand, define, and refine requirements, owning the end-to-end process of stakeholder engagement to output delivery.

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to translate business needs into reporting requirements, designing and delivering high quality dashboards
  • Own the timely completion and delivery of stakeholder reporting and dashboard requirements
  • Consistent and logical approach to building suites of Power BI reports and dashboard with the ability to lead and create high quality Power BI
  • Support standardisation and best practice in colour schema, chart selection, and dashboard presentation styles
  • Own the data quality resolution process within the data team, quickly reacting to resolve any DQ issues identified or raised
  • Play a lead role in evolving the development and optimisation of Power BI self-serve reports and dashboards
  • Understand the database schemas and relationships
  • Query Databases to create and update any data extracts or suggest changes required to further enhance end-to-end automated reporting
  • Adhere to the process for moving dashboards through the development cycle (i.e. Sandbox to UAT to production), ensuring the appropriate security profile is adopted
  • Ensure all adequate data protection and security measures are robustly applied to any reports or dashboards before publication
  • Responsible for maximising the use of the most relevant and up-to-date Power BI functionalities for dashboard development
  • Working within an agile framework to deliver high quality & trusted analysis that inform real improvements and decision making across the business
  • Other responsibilities including but not limited to maintaining the request backlog, resolving report quality issues, and provide end-user training and guidance
  • Advanced Power BI developer, with proficiency in M language and DAX
  • Led creation of high quality Power BI
  • Training or accreditation in a visual analytics platform (e.g., Power BI)
  • Intermediate to advanced SQL experience working in databases (e.g., writing complex stored procedures and views)
  • Integrate Power BI with SQL for performance optimization
  • Relevant degree or above in a quantitative field (e.g., Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics). We are flexible on this requirement.
  • Demonstrable experience working within a data team developing and publishing performance dashboards in Power BI
  • Familiarity with the whole BI stack and understand data structures
  • Background successfully working in a collaborative environment, across functions, and with different levels of the organisation
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Experience working within an Agile development framework
  • Familiarity with statistical programming languages (e.g., R and Python), with a pro-active willingness to further develop advanced analytics and ML knowledge
  • Good stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A self-starter with a problem solving mindset who has an ambitious attitude
  • Curious and always looking for better ways to deliver results
  • Able to balance short-term business needs with longer-term solutions
