We’re looking for a Team Leader to join our Homelessness Prevention & Solutions team, helping to deliver the Council’s commitment to preventing and relieving homelessness across Cambridge.
In this role, you will:
Lead and support a team of Homelessness Prevention Officers and Housing Advisors.
Ensure customers receive high-quality advice on housing options, law, policy, and the Choice Based Lettings system.
Drive a proactive approach to homelessness prevention, encouraging early intervention and signposting to related services such as debt, employment, and substance misuse support.
Take a strategic lead on rough sleeping services, using data to inform new initiatives and meet government grant conditions.
Represent the team at panels, conferences, and partnership meetings, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Provide expert guidance on housing legislation, policy development, and service improvement.
Monitor performance, conduct case reviews, and ensure service standards are met.
Organise training and coaching opportunities to help staff reach their full potential.
What we’re looking for:
A strong understanding of housing law, homelessness legislation, and prevention strategies.
Experience in managing teams and improving service delivery.
Excellent communication and partnership-building skills.

Hours: This is a full-time role, for 37 hours per week.
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday
Contract: Fixed Term/Secondment* – 12 months
Salary: £41,771 – £47,181 per annum (City Pay Band 6)
Location: You will be required to work in Mandela House but have the flexibility to work from home too
