Salary: Up to £42,500 depending on experience
Location: New Mills, Global HQ (GL12 8JR)
Hybrid working: 3 days on site, 2 days from home (4.5 day working week)

Working within the Sustainability Team at Renishaw offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing field that addresses the global challenges of climate change and human rights. As a proactive Senior Sustainability Officer, you will play a pivotal role in driving sustainability initiatives to help Renishaw meet its targets, as well as contributing to a low carbon future. Responsibilities:

  • Act as a sustainability business partner, advising, supporting, and influencing the organisation in reaching its sustainability goals

  • Support the development of Renishaw’s Scope 3 reduction plans, including the development of sustainability metrics to inform business decisions

  • Be the sustainability subject matter expert for our GHG emissions accounting, reduction strategy and the Green House Gas (GHG) Protocol

  • Develop and implement plans to address climate change risks and opportunities in line with climate-related disclosures, such as TCFD

  • Support where necessary on relevant corporate and regulatory sustainability reporting activities

  • Work with other business functions using previous work packages to leverage new ideas and ensure effective relationships are formed to embed sustainability into their ways of working

  • Keep ahead of forthcoming legislation, regulatory requirements and industry trends and assess their impact to the business. Advise ways to mitigate risks and exploit potential opportunities

  • Be a visible sustainability champion across the business, ensuring a consistent approach in line with the ESG Strategy

  • Regularly analyse and report on performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous improvement of sustainability practices

Key requirements

  • Knowledge of sustainability standards, regulations, and best practices, such as, CSRD, ISSB and GHG Protocol

  • Ability to advise a business and influence stakeholders at all levels to adopt sustainability practices and initiatives creative thinking and problem-solving skills to develop innovative sustainability solutions

  • Proven experience in managing sustainability projects and initiatives

  • The necessary green skills to motivate and influence stakeholders

  • The ability to inspire, excite and challenge, particularly when engaging with board and executive-level stakeholders, whilst also having the ability to explain complex information to non-technical audiences
     

Person specification

As Senior Sustainability Officer you'll have experience of working in a sustainability environment in a similar complex organisation, with sound knowledge of global sustainability frameworks. You’ll be a tenacious, enthusiastic, and proactive individual with a strong eagerness to learn and develop your skills further. You’ll be effective at managing priorities and workloads whilst understanding how your work fits with the bigger picture at Renishaw. You’ll have a clear passion for sustainability and finding innovative business solutions to achieve our targets.
