About the role
We are seeking to recruit a Team Leader to manage coordination of the Drug and Alcohol Treatment and Recovery grant programmes across Northamptonshire. The role is fixed term until the end of March 2025 (subject to extending for an additional year dependent on grant funding) and will provide strategy, programme management and coordination expertise for the delivery of the ambitions of five grant programmes (Supplementary Substance Misuse Treatment and Recovery Grant, Housing Support Grant, Detoxification Consortium, Individual Placement Support (IPS) and Rough Sleeping Grant), contributing to the overall Northamptonshire Combating Drugs Partnership’s strategy and the Government’s 10 year ‘From Harm to Hope’ Drugs Strategy.
What will you be doing?
Hosted by Public Health in West Northamptonshire Council on behalf of the Northamptonshire Combating Drugs Partnership, the role deals with delivering a broad ranging programme of work across different elements of drug and alcohol treatment and recovery services. It will require the post holder to manage a wide range of relationships and work closely with multiple stakeholders including the funding body, the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID). You will be responsible for managing a small team of two Commissioning Officers and report to the Drug & Alcohol Commissioner.
About you
You will need to have proven political awareness along with negotiating, influencing and strong leadership skills. You will be willing to work on your own initiative and flexibly whilst working with substance misuse and alcohol colleagues and stakeholders on behalf of both councils and the wider partnership system.
You will have a solid knowledge of drugs and alcohol and a good understanding of the issues people who use substances might face. Experience with the drug and alcohol field will be advantageous.
You will have an in-depth knowledge of public health priorities including demonstrable knowledge of these at a county and locality level and of the strategies which impact on these outcomes.
If you are enthusiastic, passionate, and have the above skills then we want to hear from you.
