Your Role
As part of our growth agenda, we are seeking an additional Vice President in National Security.
We want you to bring your exceptional sector expertise to assist the growth of our ambition to be the National Security partner of choice. We are passionate about helping our clients to deliver sustainable, innovative change that makes a meaningful difference.
We will need you to autonomously scope and lead complex programmes for our clients, have proven success in business development with evidence of strong commercial acumen, actively contribute to internal initiatives and develop our team from a skills, experience, and capability perspective. While working in a supportive team environment, you will have the confidence and experience to drive our business development activities.
As part of our Senior Leadership Team, you will be a coach and role-model to colleagues across the UK. You will be working directly with your fellow leadership team to deliver excellence for our clients. There is also the opportunity to work with colleagues from across the Capgemini Group to leverage our combined capabilities and expertise to the benefit of our clients – we often look to synergise our technical expertise (for example, digital and analytics) with the deep sector expertise held in the Public Sector.
As a Vice President, you help set the direction to drive forward our National Security business, model our values and behaviours, and train, coach and mentor junior members of the team. Key expectations from this role include:
- Building our business: you will have a passion for, and proven track record in growing a consulting business with National Security organisations, and the delivery expertise to sustain and nurture client relationships for lasting success.
- Developing Capgemini’s impact in the National Security sector in the UK – using a combination of our broader pre-existing relationships and your own network to generate sales of £4 million per annum
- Helping our clients realise their strategic transformation agenda through leading insight and exceptional delivery. You’ll be up to date on Public Sector trends and issues and a recognised subject matter expert in National Security
- Developing deep, trust-based relationships with clients in a sell-deliver-sell-on model
- Collaborating with colleagues in user-centred design, data, strategy, solutions architecture, analytics and AI business, to name but a few.
- Supporting strategic decision making by gathering, analysing and communicating data relating to the costs and benefits of delivering various cutting-edge services
- Sharing your expertise through the creation of thought leadership and knowledge management
- Supporting Capgemini Invent’s market offerings by writing propositions that reflect our position as a leading public sector management consultancy
As part of your role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities that form part of the following categories:
- Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
- Internal contribution – Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
- Learning & development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.
Your Profile
- Strong consulting and personal skills alongside drive, determination and influencing skills with the required clearances to operate in this sector.
- A natural ability to work in collaborative teams of colleagues and senior executives and possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. You will embody the attributes of a modern servant leader and understand the importance of having fun in the work we do.
- Who enjoys building and leading teams whilst helping others to achieve their potential. You’ll demonstrate professionalism and flexibility, adjusting positively to shifting priorities and ambiguity.
- Currently working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Consulting background
- Business development – using a combination of our organisation’s broader pre-existing relationships, company relationships and your own network, you’ll be generating c.£4m of consulting revenues
- An extensive and accessible network in National Security
- DV Clearance
Our desired skillset:
- Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
- A passion for the Public Sector and a keen interest in making a positive difference for society
- Experience of designing and leading large scale, complex programme management and transformation initiatives in the Public Sector
- Business development experience in the whole sales lifecycle form lead origination to contract signature
- Commercial and risk expertise including Legal, Data Protection and Business Risk Management
- Ability to lead toward outcomes based on relevant tools and techniques: such as strategic and/or detailed operating model design, customer journey mapping, process mapping, agile techniques, business architecture, organisation design, organisation sizing, governance, role design or the development of business cases
- Experience of proposition building and delivery.
