Job Description
Costain are working with Thames Water on a variety of water and wastewater projects and have fantastic opportunities for individuals to join our growing AMP8 delivery team, working predominantly across the Thames Valley and Thames South regions. There is a mix of projects ranging from smaller capital maintenance to large civil new build schemes.
An Information Manager will oversee all information and document management systems, developing policies and procedures ensuring that documents and information are correctly stored, updated, and accessible.

Responsibilities
- Ensure the appropriate use of information and optimisation of the collection, storage, distribution, retrieval, archiving and destruction of documents, images, drawings, and other sources of information.
- Produce and maintain written information management and document control processes and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and procedures, and legislative requirements.
- Ensure the information and management control system is implemented in compliance with the Company and Client standards; and is updated to reflect revisions to those standards.
- Maintain awareness of new Client and/or Program initiatives that may impact the control or distribution of information on the project.
- Collaborate with PMs and Function Leads to fully understand the key project information requirements and objectives. Measure the success of information/document control solutions and services in contributing to the overall Framework(s) objectives.
- To deliver responsive and cost-effective information and document control solutions using a range of techniques.
- Coach / advise managers in the implementation of robust document control systems, processes, and procedure, and to facilitate timely delivery and evaluation of appropriate activities/solutions which ensure project needs are met.
- Manage and maintain team of Document Controllers including recruiting, selecting, and training employees.
- Ensure Project Teams are provided with the adequate training and support to enable the successfully use of the procedures, systems and tools use by the Framework for efficient document and information management.
- Manage access to all document control systems (BC7.4 “iCosnet”) for the Framework, Contract and Supply Chain Teams.
- Conduct Quality audits both advisory and scored including auditing Document Control across the Frameworks.
- Provide an interface to IT for Document Control issues, which include process enhancements to existing software, developing recommendations for new hardware and/or software that may benefit the Document Control environment.
Qualifications
- Extensive document control experience with at least 5years supporting large-scale complex engineering and construction projects preferably in the Water Sector.
- Expert in Document Control and Information Management systems, processes, and requirements.
- Excellent planning and time-management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail with proven accuracy and reliability in completing actions.
- Ability to plan and prioritise team(s) workload and ensure they work effectively to framework deadlines.
- Must be a self-starter with proactive, results-oriented focus, and willing and capable to take on additional responsibilities.
- Highly competent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable operating with senior management teams
- Able to engage and communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Continual personal and professional development.
- Must have completed training in IS09001 (Quality Systems), IS027001 (Information Security), ISO09650 (BIM) and ISO9001:2015(Foundation and Internal QMS Auditor Training) is desirable.
