HGV Driver – Middlesborough 

Our company, Enva is currently seeking an HGV Class 1 Driver to shunt R/W between our Middlesbrough site and SembCorp biomass to assist with loading and unloading.  With the occasional requirement to do local off-site work delivers NI / ROI. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

·       Deliver and collect full articulated trailers in a safe and timely manner
·       Ensure that all equipment loaded/unloaded for delivery and collection is done so in a safe manner and that equipment is secured correctly for transport.
·       Assist with loading and unloading trailers.
·       Follow all regulations relating to driver’s hours and safe operation of heavy goods vehicles
·       Complete driver defect reports on a daily basis and return to manager.
·       Ensure vehicle is kept clean and free of any debris that could contaminate the product cause harm to you or damage to vehicle
·       Participate in all work-related training as required.
·       Work collaboratively with the logistics team to ensure excellent operational service is maintained, and continually improved
·       Ensure all equipment/vehicles are properly cared for by the completion of effective cleaning and basic maintenance tasks.
·       Report any non-conformances identified immediately to management
·       Demonstrate a commitment to Health & Safety by working in a safe manner, role modelling our safety behaviours, challenging unsafe practices, rectifying unsafe conditions and escalating to other team members when support is needed.
·       Understand and adhere to good manufacturing practices and company standards of hygiene and PPE
·       Work well as part of a team, playing an active part in team and business successes. Engage with the daily challenges and opportunities and work effectively with others to overcome any issues.
·       Comply with all company rules, policies and procedures

This is a list of the main duties for this role; employees should note that they should be prepared to undertake any duties deemed necessary by their line manager or the management team of Enva wood recycling for the logistics department to meet its targets. 

 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise 

Essential 
·       2 years driving experience.
·       Loading / unloading in own or customers premises
·       Excellent standard of written and spoken English
·       Ability to work in physically demanding environments
·       Positive attitude
·       Be part of a team
·       A degree of flexibility is expected
·       Excellent communication skills

Desirable
 ·       Experience in a customer facing role
