About the role:

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Senior HR Business Partner to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our people strategy across a diverse academic and professional service portfolio.
 
Acting as a trusted advisor, you will partner with the Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences (NMES) and Nursing. Midwifery & Palliative Care (NMPC) faculties to provide strategic HR guidance, drive organisational change, and influence key decisions that support the university’s strategy.
 
You will bring a proactive, evidence-based approach to developing people solutions that improve performance, foster inclusion, and enhance the overall employee experience.
 
Supported by an Associate HR Business Partner and People Coordinator, you will manage complex employee relations issues and support the implementation of new policies and organisational initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to institution-wide projects, support culture change, and make a real difference in how we work at King’s.

This is a full time (35 hours per week) role, and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
 
Essential Criteria:
  1. Significant HR generalist experience within a complex, ambiguous and unionised environment, with proven success in delivering impactful strategic HR initiatives
  2. Strong coaching, facilitating and negotiating skills, with experience of working in partnership with senior stakeholders
  3. Significant experience of leading and managing organisational change
  4. Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice, alongside commercial and financial understanding, to enable demonstrable business focussed advice and decision making
  5. Experience of leading and managing ER casework, both formally and informally.
  6. Ability to analyse complex data, identify trends and use findings to inform people strategy and initiatives.
  7. Evidenced ability to develop, manage and coach team members
