This is the job

We’re entering an exciting phase of transformation and growth across our Financial Services and AA-X business units. We’re looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking Business Manager to help shape what comes next. This brand-new role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of connected car technology and financial services, supporting the Managing Director in driving strategic initiatives and operational excellence.

AA-X is our innovation ventures arm, focused on developing data and AI-powered digital propositions that help consumers and businesses manage vehicle health. As Business Manager, you’ll play a central role in delivering high-impact projects, streamlining operations, and enabling effective decision-making. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy solving complex problems, and want to be part of a business that’s scaling rapidly and innovating boldly, this is the role for you.

What will I be doing?

Business Management

  • Partner closely with the MD of Financial Services and AA-X leadership to support decision-making through insight gathering, analysis, and strategic input.
  • Coordinate and oversee cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities and timely delivery.
  • Prepare high-quality executive briefings, board materials, and presentations that support leadership visibility and impact.
  • Champion colleague recognition initiatives, leading on reward and celebration of team achievements.
  • Build strong relationships across HR, IT, Digital, Finance, Legal, and Risk to drive collaboration and business alignment.
  • Support governance forums with strategic challenge and ensure clear documentation of decisions and actions to enable progress.

Executive Support & Diary Management

  • Provide proactive and comprehensive support to the MD, including inbox and diary management, travel coordination, and expense handling.
  • Track and follow up on key actions from meetings and communications, particularly those from the CEO, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Manage agendas, meeting preparation, and reporting to ensure the MD is equipped with the right insights and materials.
  • Coordinate approvals across HR, procurement, and legal processes, ensuring all necessary information is collated for informed decision-making.
  • Lead the planning and execution of internal and external events, ensuring seamless coordination and stakeholder engagement.
  • Liaise with external suppliers and partners to align schedules, expectations, and deliverables.

What do I need?

  • Proven experience supporting C-suite leaders (CEO/MD/Director level) with high-level executive coordination, including complex diary management, board pack preparation, and strategic agenda setting.
  • Exposure to fast-paced and complex scaling environments within financial services, technology, or automotive sectors, bringing insight into the operational dynamics and challenges of early-stage growth through direct support roles.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to cross-functional initiatives, and the ability to craft and present compelling narratives to senior audiences.
  • Outstanding organisational and planning skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities, act with initiative, and deliver under pressure in fast-paced environments.
  • High level of integrity and discretion, with a strong understanding of corporate governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks.
  • Future-focused mindset, combining intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and delivery-focus, ideal for someone on a trajectory toward a Chief of Staff role.
