About the role
We are seeking a brilliant Research Assistant to work at the frontier of research in plant nano bionic as part of the Leverhulme Trust research project. This project leads a major effort to boost photosynthesis performance using sophisticated nanotechnology. This research could drastically improve the photosynthesis efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and land use.
Working in a highly multidisciplinary environment, this role will be pivotal in developing novel nanoparticle for plant application
You will be supported by the project team on shaping the application of nanoparticles as well as film technology in the food system.Â
About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A relevant Undergraduate degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering or relevant subject area
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams
- A background in nanotechnology, plant science, membrane process and chemical engineering
- An awareness of the latest developments in the field of research
- Potential to publish in high quality, peer reviewed journals

This is a full-time fixed term position for an initial 12 months, we would envision a successful candidate being part of the journey for the longer term, subject to further funding.Â
