Objective of role 

Wandsworth Council is a dynamic local authority in London, committed to delivering excellent services and making a positive impact on our diverse community. We are looking for a talented communications professional to join our team and help us effectively communicate our initiatives, engage residents, and drive positive change in the borough.

The Communications Team is at the centre of the council and has a high impact on the services and audiences it serves. It provides strategic leadership on media relations, public relations, event management, community engagement, publications, social media management and monitoring, branding, design and the council’s website. It is also responsible for the operational oversight, delivery and coordination of all communications activity across the wider council.


About the role
As the Storytelling and Case Studies Officer you will play a pivotal role in crafting compelling narratives and real-life examples that showcase the impact and success stories of the council’s initiatives, projects, and services. You will collaborate closely with various teams to gather, analyse, and present data and anecdotes that resonate with our audience, whether they are stakeholders, businesses or residents.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Mobile video and editing tools: Proficient in using mobile video capture and editing equipment/software.
  • Social media platforms: Skilled in leveraging platforms for content sharing and engagement.
  • Cultural competence: Able to understand, connect, and build relationships across diverse communities.
  • Storytelling and journalism: Proven background in content creation, storytelling, and journalism, including conducting interviews and gathering testimonials.
  • Writing and editing: Strong ability to craft compelling narratives from complex information 
  • Interpersonal communication: Excellent relationship-building and collaboration skills with diverse stakeholders.
  • Content creation: Skilled in writing and editing engaging content for varied audiences.
  • Teamwork under pressure: Effective in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
