Account Manager- Finance Business Partner
Aon’s Captive and Insurance Management (ACIM) manages approximately 1,400 insurance entities worldwide including captives, protected and incorporated cell facilities, special purpose vehicles and specialist insurance and reinsurance companies – delivering value to clients by focusing on the management, control and reduction of clients’ total cost of risk. It is done by helping the clients identify and quantify the risks they face, and assisting them with the selection and implementation of the appropriate risk transfer, risk retention and risk mitigation solutions.
ACIM Account Management Department at GCC Krakow is involved in Financial Reporting, Insurance Management for Captive Insurance and Insurance linked Structures.
You will report to the Manager of the Account Management Team in Commercial Risk Department. The work can be divided into four main areas: Accounting / Finance, Risk Control, Insurance / Reinsurance and Legal / Taxation / Compliance.

What the day will look like
- Daily bookkeeping, update and control of the bank accounts of the clients.
- Accounting of changes in value of investments as well as forex adjustments on banks and investments.
- Calculation of technical reserves for both incoming and outgoing business in connection with book-closings.
- Production of financial reports for the clients within the deadlines given by each client.
- Administration and control of the total (re)insurance portfolio of the captives
- Registration and control of all reinsurance agreements, both for incoming and outgoing business.
- Control that the right premium is paid to the captive within the agreed time.
- Check that losses claimed by insurance companies are in accordance with agreements /policies, and arrange for the payment of these claims as well as the proper system registration.
- Production of statistical reports on the insurance business on special request from the clients.
- Preparation of the general ledger and the management trial balances for the annual audit of each client.
- Preparation of reporting and coordination of the reporting process to the regulator and any other reports required by the local authorities
- Additional scope (only for the limited number of clients) – Preparation of documents for board meetings and annual general meetings of the clients.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Minimum 5 years of complex accounting experience
- Fluency in English and German or French
- Knowledge of insurance technical accounting is a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft tools Word (good) and Excel (very good) in addition to exposure to at least one accounting software package – SICS or D365 (Microsoft Dynamics) desirable.
- ACCA/ACA or equivalent accountancy qualification will be a plus
- Experience in the Re-Insurance industry is a plus
- IFRS knowledge is a plus
- Interpersonal skills
- An ability to constantly seek to improve
- A natural thirst for development
- Limited or no supervision for the functional deliverables.
