Are you looking to start your career in fleet compliance and administration? Do you have strong organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and an interest in keeping vehicles safe, roadworthy and legally compliant? If so, this role could be the perfect opportunity for you to develop your skills and gain valuable experience within our Fleet Services team at Cambridge City Council.
About the RoleAs an Apprentice Fleet Compliance Administrator, you will support the Fleet Manager and wider team in making sure our vehicles and drivers remain safe, compliant, and efficient. You’ll learn how to:
Carry out audits of key compliance records such as vehicle inspections, defect reporting and driver documentation.
Monitor tachograph data, driver CPC requirements, and driving licence checks.
Support the administration of our fleet management, telematics and fuel systems.
Maintain records for MOTs, inspections, and accident reporting.
Provide administrative support to the garage, such as raising job cards, ordering parts, and keeping accurate records.

About YouWe are looking for someone with:
A good standard of education, including Maths and English).
Strong IT and organisational skills, with the ability to manage tasks methodically and accurately.
Good communication and customer service skills.
A genuine interest in developing knowledge of vehicle and driver compliance, including Operator Licence requirements.
A proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning.
A driving licence would be an advantage but is not essential for this apprenticeship.
Additional Information
This role is based at Waterbeach Garage, with some travel to our Cowley Road Garage when required.
Full training and mentoring support will be provided throughout the apprenticeship.

Hours: This is a full-time role, for 37 hours per week.
Working Pattern: 5 days per week, with some time set aside for study towards apprenticeship.

Salary: £29,540 to £32,061 per annum (City Pay Band 3)
Location: You will work from our Commercial Garage site based just outside Waterbeach on the A10.
