About Sussex Outreach Services

The Sussex Outreach service is a community-based service designed to support, engage and empower deaf adults, focusing on breaking down barriers to communication, information and access by providing tailored support in various aspects of daily life, ensuring individuals have equal access to information, services and opportunities whilst promoting inclusion, independence and community connection.

We offer support in your own home and in the community. We can support with translating documents into sign language, advocacy, updates on local events and opportunities.

We are British Sign Language and Deaf/Blind users, experienced in deaf culture. We support using a person-centred approach which is tailored to everyone.

We offer a range of exciting benefits, such as:

  • Flexible hours to suit a range of lifestyles
  • Career progression and training opportunities
  • Employee welfare and wellbeing initiatives
  • Recognition schemes, team events and social activities
  • Employee discount schemes across a range of retailers and services
  • Wagestream – a financial health app that gives you the ability to receive optional pay advances
  • Staff incentive schemed such as Refer a Friend, Employee of the Month and Heroes Awards.

About You

We require a minimum of BSL Level 2. It would be advantageous to have some experience of healthcare work for this role, but it isn’t absolutely necessary as we provide full training. As long as you’re passionate, hard working and empathetic, you’ll fit right in.
