About the Role

As a Business Admin Apprentice, you will join our Registration Service’s Support and Administration Team, based primarily at the Oxford Register Office. This is a trainee position designed for individuals with little or no previous experience in a similar role.

You will learn to provide efficient and effective administrative support to various teams, including Finance, Reception, Customer Support, Citizenship, and Certificate Production. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering excellent customer service and handling enquiries via telephone, email, and face-to-face.
  • Liaising with senior colleagues to gather information and assemble responses.
  • Presenting information and data in electronic formats (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Maintaining up-to-date records on electronic systems.
  • Assisting with financial tasks such as reconciliation of electronic cash books.
  • Providing general administrative support.
  • Committing to ongoing self-development and completing a recognised Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship.

About you

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who are eager to learn and develop their skills. The ideal candidate will have:

  • 4 GCSEs (A*-C/4-9) or equivalent, including Maths and English.
  • Knowledge of ICT programmes for word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and email.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • An organised approach to handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Flexibility, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Desirable qualities include the ability to learn new computer packages, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle confidential work.
