Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our team. The BDM will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, establishing partnerships, and developing strategic plans to increase market share in our key market segments. This role will operate across our product range to drive growth and expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify New Business Opportunities: Develop a pipeline of new prospects across various sectors and products, with an expectation of generating £1m+ of new business in the first year.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry leaders.
  • Proposal Development: Lead the creation of detailed business proposals and sales strategies tailored to meet the specific needs of clients.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, operations, and finance, to ensure the development of new opportunities.
  • Networking & Industry Representation: Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, and networking meetings to build relationships and promote the brand.
  • Reporting & Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on business development performance, providing regular updates to the leadership team.

Person Specification:

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of renewable products or services, particularly commercial solar products.
  • Knowledge of relevant market segments such as leisure, logistics & warehousing, manufacturing, and commercial property management.
  • Mastery of various business development techniques and methodologies to engage and convert prospects.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software to manage client information, track interactions, and analyse data.
  • Ability to negotiate terms and close deals while maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Understanding of business operations and financial principles to align sales strategies with business goals.

Experience:

  • Proven track record in a business development role, demonstrating the ability to meet or exceed targets
  • Experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with clients
  • Ability to analyse market trends and competitor activities to inform sales strategies
  • Experience in relevant market segments such as leisure, logistics & warehousing, manufacturing, and commercial property management

Salary: £60-65,000 + commission
