Salary: £13.47 per hour

Hours of work: 2 0 hours per week to include work in school holidays and evenings (3.30-7.30pm with flexibility)

Contract type: Permanent

All about the role:

We are looking for a friendly and capable individual with practical skills to join us at Pewsey Primary School. You will be responsible for identifying and undertaking tasks to ensure that our site and buildings are maintained and improved, in order to provide the best possible learning environment and facilities for our staff and children.

We are looking for an individual who:

  • Has a clear understanding of the needs of a school
  • Can integrate well into a community and team
  • Will take pride in their role within the school
  • Can prioritise their own workload and respond to unexpected needs
  • Ensure the school buildings and grounds are cleaned to the required standard and work as a member of the cleaning team
  • Can manage and oversee the work of others
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Has qualifications/experience of carrying out specialist building maintenance works in one or more areas e.g. carpentry, plastering, plumbing, electricity etc.
  • Have an understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH
  • Be responsible for school security including unlocking and locking of school buildings
  • Be a keyholder to attend alarm call outs

Although based in Pewsey, there may be occasions when you will be required to travel and work in our other school in Amesbury. There will also be a requirement to do some work at Puddleducks – our Nursery & Pre-school in Pewsey.
