About the role
This is a casual contract. The services you provide to the Council are of a casual nature. This means that there is no obligation on the Council to provide you with work or for you to accept any work offered. Work on a regular basis is not guaranteed.
The post holder is responsible and accountable for “on the day” delivery of ceremonial events in Registration Offices and Approved Venues. This includes the pre-ceremony interview.
The role is performing the statutory functions of conducting Marriage /Civil Partnerships and Citizenship Ceremonies. This role will then officially complete the Marriage Schedule, with the couple and witnesses, which will then be returned to the service for production and postage or the legal marriage certificate, all in line with the statutory procedures of the General Register Office.
The role needs to deliver at all times excellent customer service to all customers and members of the public, to ensure they have a memorable and special experience while adhering to the law and protecting and enhancing North Northamptonshire Council’s reputation.
About you
NOTE : The role is for internal applicants only!!
The job requires the candidate exceptional communication skills to be able to perform the statutory functions of registering and conducting the Marriage / Civil Partnerships together with other non-statutory functions including renewal of Vows and Naming ceremonies.
The candidate must uphold excellent customer service skills to ensure the customers have a memorable experience while adhering to the law and specific procedures , protecting the North Northamptonshire Council’s reputation.

We have higher customer demand during the summer months and although we offer ceremonies everyday of the week we are looking primarily to cover Wednesdays – Sundays
