King’s Business School has 3 large centres:  Centre for Sustainable Business, King’s Global Institute for Women’s Leadership and ILEAD Centre for Innovation, Leadership, Education and Development. 
 
The role sits within the Centres Professional Services team, and you will design and deliver multi-channel communications to maximise engagement with all the Centres’ activities across King’s Business School. 

About the role:

 
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and delivering a range of communications from the KBS Centres for their planned activities for 2025–2027. Working closely with the Senior Centre Manager, Centre Managers and Centre Directors, the post holder will develop a series of online and offline impact activities to build stakeholder engagement. This includes implementation of bespoke communications plans for each Centre, close collaboration with researchers, Centres and KBS colleagues and maintenance of websites and other online content.
Responsibilities also include supporting the communication of Centre events conferences and workshops, promoting events through multiple channels and conducting post-event activities such as production of written/video content.   The role holder is also expected to work closely with Professional Services team members to contribute to seamless and integrated service provision across all the Centres.
 
We are seeking candidates with a keen eye for detail and a strong background in communications and/or engagement roles. The post holder will be an important member of both the Centres’ and the wider Centre Professional Services team, able to work with multiple projects and deadlines to deliver communications promoting high profile Centre activities. 
 
This is a full-time role (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered  a fixed term contract until 31st December 2027.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
  1. Proven experience in communications and/or engagement roles Demonstrable track record of developing and delivering communications strategies, preferably within a higher education, research, or public sector environment. 
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to produce high-quality, engaging content for a range of audiences and platforms, including digital, social media, and print. 
  3. Digital content creation and management skills Experience in creating, editing, and managing digital content (e.g., web, video, graphics, social media), with proficiency in relevant tools and platforms. 
  4. Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills Evidence of effective collaboration with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including academics, professional services, and external partners. 
  5. Project management and organisational skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, demonstrating strong planning, prioritisation, and attention to detail. 
  6. Creative and proactive approach Ability to identify and act on opportunities to enhance engagement and visibility, bringing fresh ideas and solutions to communications challenges. 
  7. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments, with willingness to support colleagues and share knowledge.
Desirable criteria
  1. Understanding of the higher education and research environment Awareness of the context, challenges, and opportunities within universities, research centres, or similar organisations.
  2. Awareness of the areas of research delivered by the KBS Centres.
