Overview

Are you an experienced Senior or a Deputy Manager looking for a new direction where your skills and heart can make a real difference?
At Esland, we’d love you to become part of our family as a Children’s Home Deputy Manager and start a truly rewarding chapter in your career.
Why Esland?
We’re passionate about changing children’s lives for the better by providing outstanding therapeutic care. Our Huddersfield home is a solo service, giving one young person the care, stability, and support they need to thrive. You won’t just be joining a team—you’ll be joining a community that values you as much as the children we care for.

About our schools:

You’ll work 2 days on, 4 days off (including sleep nights), giving you plenty of time to recharge. We’re a year-round service, but your rota will be planned in advance, so you’ll know exactly when you’re working.

Pay: up to £36,000 a year (depending on qualifications), with sleeps paid in addition to this and extra pay for overtime.

We work with children and young people who need therapeutic placements in a solo service — a smaller, more personal setting where they can really feel at home. You’ll support them with everyday life skills, education, social confidence, and fun experiences that help them believe in themselves.

What we’re looking for:

We believe happy teams create the best care. Here’s how we look after you:
  • Clear routes for progression and personal development
  • Paid, BILD-accredited induction training to set you up for success
  • An employee app offering discounts, medical advice, financial guidance & counselling
  • A bonus day off for your birthday ?
  • A warm, supportive work environment with a genuine family feel
  • Access to our beautiful Peak District holiday home—free for our team to use!
  • A culture that values fun, support, and work-life balance

We can offer:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential care home (within the last 5 years)
  • Minimum 12 months supervising/managing staff in a care setting
  • Level 3 Diploma (or higher) in Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, legislation, and Quality Standards
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Full UK driving licence & right to work in the UK
  • Must be 21+ (to meet industry regulations)
We believe our teams are the very best in the industry—and now could be the perfect time for you to join us.
