A full- time opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join the Administration team for the Dietetics Department at the Royal Surrey.
This is a busy and varied role, which will primarily support the dietitians with patient related administration tasks which do not require the expertise of a registered dietitian. It includes overseeing the management of telephone and email enquiries and referrals, the electronic finalising of clinic letters, booking and preparing clinics for dietitians and rescheduling of appointments as well as carrying out other general office duties. The job is critical to the smooth and efficient running of the dietetic department. You will be given training and supervision to develop your skills when dealing with queries and concerns from patients.
You will supporting a busy department of 42 dietitians and 6 dietetic assistants. We will require you to be able to work under your own initiative as well as part of a team. You will need to deal with enquiries, which may at times be of a challenging nature. We are also looking for someone who can effectively prioritise, is computer literate and takes a pride in delivering excellent customer services.

To assist the dietitians to provide a high-quality service to inpatients and outpatients at the Royal Surrey Hospital by providing comprehensive administrative support and undertaking tasks which do not require the expertise of a registered dietitian.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will work as part of a team sharing responsibility for the smooth running of the dietetic department in line with Trust performance targets. This post will support the dietitians with the day-to-day care and administration of both inpatients and outpatients attending the Royal Surrey Hospital. A considerate, patient focused service will be provided in all dealings with patients and with staff around the hospital and throughout the whole Trust.

Essential criteria
- Educated to A Level or NVQ 3 or relevant experience
- Working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), web based programs and electronic systems
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience with audio typing / processing dictated letters
