Document Controller – London
Job Description
We are looking for a methodical and organised Document Controller to join the SMCJV,
working on the HS2 high voltage power package of work. You will be responsible for
managing the lifecycle on a range of complex technical and non-technical
documentation, whilst maintaining high quality standards before onward submission to
the client. The ideal candidate brings a wealth of Document Control experience, a
positive attitude towards problem solving and the ability to communicate and engage
with various project stakeholders.

Responsibilities and Experience
- Providing document control support to the SMCJV team, managing the delivery/receipt of key deliverables between SMCJV, the client and sub contractors.
- Quality assuring deliverables prior to formal submission and rejecting any that do not comply with project standards. • Maintaining accurate, up-to-date transmittal trackers in Excel databases.
- Fulfilling the duties of a ProjectWise super user with elevated permissions, account creation, providing ad-hoc training to the team and assisting with technical issues.
- Maintaining the projects Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) and regularly auditing folders to ensure document consistency.
- Allocating document placeholders within the contractors EDMS and client’s system, complying with the Information Delivery Plan (IDP).
- Producing and distributing weekly commercial CEMAR reports.
- Acting as a point of contact for the client and sub-contractors, dealing with document enquiries and issue resolution.
Qualifications
Essential
- Competent with Microsoft 365 applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience in Document Control or similar role.
Desirable
- Bentley ProjectWise experience.
- Bentley AssetWise ALIM experience
- Rail industry knowledge
