About the role
Are you a confident communicator with a passion for protecting public spaces and upholding highway regulations? Join us in making Cambridgeshire safer, more accessible, and better maintained for everyone.
We are looking for a proactive and principled individual to take on the role of Enforcement Officer. In this position, you will be responsible for investigating breaches of highway legislation, enforcing compliance, and ensuring that public land is used appropriately and lawfully. Your work will directly support the County Council’s commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient highway network, and your actions will help preserve the integrity of our shared spaces.

About you
We are seeking a confident and capable professional with a strong understanding of highway legislation and enforcement procedures. You will bring experience from a regulatory, enforcement, or public service background, and demonstrate a calm, assertive approach to resolving complex issues. Your knowledge of the Highways Act 1980 and related legislation will be complemented by your ability to apply policy consistently and fairly.
You will be an excellent communicator, able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and manage challenging situations with professionalism and tact. You will be organised, resilient, and committed to delivering high-quality services that reflect the County Council’s CARE values. You will thrive in a role where every day brings new challenges and where your work has a direct and positive impact on the communities we serve.
