What You’ll Do

BCG’s Global Risk Function has a mission to proactively detect, manage, and mitigate risks while supporting BCG’s evolving business needs. Global Risk includes seven teams: Compliance, Assurance & Advisory, Enterprise Risk Management, Strategy & Operations, Data Protection, Global Security, and Information Security. Together, we enable the business, manage risk through effective controls, and promote a unified OneRisk approach. We aim to embed a risk-aware mindset across offices, functions,
MDPs, and employees.

What You’ll Do

BCG’s Enterprise Risk Management team helps the firm identify, assess, and manage the risks that matter most to our business. As a Global Risk Manager, Governance & Operations, you will help strengthen the governance, operating rhythm, and reporting infrastructure that enable ERM to run effectively at a global scale.

In this role, you will partner closely with the Global Risk Director and senior stakeholders across BCG to coordinate ERM governance bodies, support risk appetite and escalation processes, and ensure high quality, decision-ready materials. You will bring structure, follow-through, and sound judgment to complex workstreams that support a more consistent, risk-aware culture across the firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the ERM framework, policy, methodology, and governance processes, identifying updates as needed.
• Lead the annual risk appetite statement process, including drafting, workshop facilitation, and sign-off coordination.
• Manage the ERM governance calendar, agendas, minutes, follow-ups, and committee action tracking.
• Help design and maintain escalation processes so material risks reach the right governance bodies.
• Oversee risk policy exception and breach tracking, including remediation accountability and senior reporting.
• Coordinate periodic risk register reviews and inputs for statutory reports, audits, and related governance activities.
• Manage ERM team operations, including workplans, priorities, planning cycles, meetings, offsites, and onboarding.
• Quality-assure ERM reports, presentations, submissions, and other deliverables before they leave the function.
• Own post-meeting action tracking from ERM related committee meetings, driving accountability and timely closure across the team and stakeholder groups
• Design and run the team’s operating rhythm: stand-ups, team meetings, planning cycles, and offsites
• Support the annual ERM planning cycle — coordinating budget, headcount, and workplan inputs from team leads
• Manage and develop relationships with stakeholders on behalf of ERM team, responding to ad hoc requests with appropriate pace and rigor

What You’re Good At

• Structuring complex information and creating crisp, executive-ready narratives
• Managing multi-stakeholder projects with strong organization, attention to detail and reliable execution
• Building trust and influencing outcomes through collaboration and clear communication across senior and global teams
• Translating strategy and risk appetite into practical governance and reporting
• Translating vision into action with a bias toward execution and outcomes
• Navigating ambiguity and adapting in a dynamic environment, working effectively amongst competing priorities
• Cultivating trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders, cross-functional partners, and team members
• Comfort with abstract concepts and ability to understand various non-financial risks and their impacts
• Managing deadlines, anticipating issues, and driving follow-through
• Communicating with clarity, diplomacy, and sound judgment

What You’ll Bring

• 6+ years of experience in risk management, governance, strategy/operations, consulting, audit, or PMO ideally in a global matrix environment (professional services preferred)
• Experience supporting senior governance forums, committee reporting, or executive decision making
• Familiarity with ERM frameworks (e.g., COSO ERM, ISO 31000), risk appetite, KRIs, controls and governance processes
• Strong PowerPoint skills; experience with data visualization (Power BI/Tableau) and collaboration tools (Trello, Slack), and with GRC platforms
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to build decision-ready materials
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and meet deadlines without close supervision
• Ability to work across time zones; occasional travel may be required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree required (in business, risk, economics, or related field); advanced degree or certifications are a plus
• Fluent English and high professional integrity
