Head of Strategic Value Stream (Uninsured Driving Prevention) – Milton Keynes

About the role 

  • To lead MIB’s future thinking and to own outcome delivery in respect of the ‘We’ll Make Powerful Shifts to End Uninsured Driving for Good’ (UDP) Pillar within Accelerating to Zero
  • To ensure, through delivery against agreed goals, that the MIB can demonstrate progress in the reduction of uninsured drivers on UK roads.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote continuous engagement in the successful delivery of our strategic priorities in relation to reducing the number of uninsured drivers. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and develop the UDP Value Stream, to effectively deliver in support of key strategic priorities.
  • Advocate for and promote the UDP Value Stream in the context of it being part of the overall MIB Strategy, Accelerating to Zero   
  • Engage with external stakeholders, drawing on insights to identify and inform future initiatives within the Value Stream.
  • Ensure all stakeholders understand the purpose of the Value Stream and are kept up to date on the ‘to-be’ vision for your Value Stream.
  • Work closely with colleagues and customers to understand demand and requirements and to own on-going evolution, prioritisation and review of the Value Stream backlog
  • Own the successful delivery of initiatives in support of the Value Stream goals and MIB’s overall strategy
  • Ensure collaboration between Value Streams, and across the organisation, is effective and aligned to the delivery of MIB’s strategy.
  • Create robust proposals for quarterly enterprise-wide review, coordinating successful alignment, prioritisation and dependency identification and management and, clearly articulating benefits.
  • Represent the MIB at relevant industry forums and in the media.
  • Promote sound risk management and conduct identification, management and reporting of risks in line with MIB’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework
  • Operate in compliance with UK data protection laws and within applicable regulatory standards
  • Keep abreast of developments in the insurance industry. Evaluate innovations, trends, opportunities or ideas and support solution design and delivery, connecting strategy to execution and demonstrating understanding of broad business drivers and capabilities
  • Coach and mentor colleagues and support the education of our stakeholder community.

 Skills and Experience 

  • Track record of success in developing and delivering complex, multi-faceted work programmes and operations
  • Experience of working in a matrix management environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to manage conflicting, fast-changing priorities.
  • Excellent commercial awareness, experience working with third-party service providers and contracts.
  • Excellent governance, risk and regulatory awareness and management.
  • Effective, engaging communicator, proven ability to articulate complex concepts simply to diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrable and effective influencing and negotiating skills with proven success in building productive professional relationships and partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders, organisations and the market.
  • Exceptional people skills to build strong relationships with internal and external customers.
