About the role

Are you a passionate, experienced leader ready to shape a brand-new service that will have a lasting impact on families, children, and young people? We’re launching an exciting new Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) team and we’re looking for a dynamic IAG Manager to lead the way.

This is more than a role, it’s an opportunity to build something from the ground up. You’ll be at the forefront of a forward-thinking team, driving how we deliver our Family Information Service (FIS), Local Offer, and the Family Hubs Digital Front Door, including the vital Best Start for Life content.

The Family Information Service (FIS) is a statutory duty under the Childcare Act 2006, while the Local Offer is mandated by the Children and Families Act 2014. Together, they support families and young people (0-25), particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), by connecting them with education, health, care, and community services. As our IAG Manager, you’ll ensure this critical support is accessible, up-to-date, and easy to navigate.

About you

You’ll need to be flexible, proactive, and quick-thinking, with the ability to manage your own time and travel across North Northamptonshire when needed. Some evening and weekend work may be required to support the team and attend community events.

We’re looking for someone who truly understands the needs of local families and can connect them with the right support. You’ll be skilled in sourcing and sharing accurate, accessible information across key areas like health, education, childcare, housing, and more — helping families make confident, informed decisions.

Key Skills & Abilities:

We’re looking for a skilled, forward-thinking professional with the experience and drive to lead a vital local service. You should have:

  • Proven ability to develop clear, accessible information and communication channels
  • Strong experience in multi-agency working and project delivery
  • Confidence in analysing data and producing clear management reports
  • Experience leading and motivating teams to meet goals and improve services
  • Excellent people skills, with a problem-solving, can-do attitude
  • Strong IT skills, confident using Word, Excel, databases and digital platforms
  • A flexible, proactive mindset with a passion for service improvement
  • Background in community development across voluntary/statutory sectors
  • Sound understanding of SEND, disability and the wider support landscape
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures
