Here’s more about the role and what we’re looking for: 

The School of Design and Creative Arts is seeking to recruit a new colleague to undertake an academic role across research, teaching and enterprise in the area of Industrial Design, with a particular focus in human centred / inclusive design, interaction or experience design, where the School has a rich and successful history.   

 

Due to the cross- and inter-disciplinary nature of our work we are interested in hearing from applicants able to contribute across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in BA Design, BA Industrial Design, BSc Product Design, MSc Integrated Industrial Design, MA/MSc User Experience Design.  

 

Key Requirements: 

  • To be a collegiate and respectful colleague capable of working across design and creative arts disciplines in a rich and vibrant community or researchers and practitioners 
  • To have a developed or developing research background in a relevant domain able to contribute to the School’s world leading research 
  • To have teaching experience, ideally at a higher education level 
  • To able to teach and inspire undergraduate and postgraduate students across a range of design modules.  Skills and experience in the areas of: industrial design processes, sketching and ideation skills, CAD and prototyping tools, design for manufacture and a strong understanding of innovation and sustainability in design are essential.
