Job Introduction

Eden Futures provides high quality, person- led care, support and enablement for people with disabilities and support needs. We develop services around the individual at all stages of their care pathway from treatment and support under the Mental Health Act, on discharge from hospital under a CTO, to lifestyle support in the community. 

Maintain all specified existing Company properties in a good state of repair in line with the required standards and carry out necessary refurbishments to newly acquired properties as directed by the Lead Maintenance Technician. Duties will include painting and decorating, repairs and proactive work including a limited amount of gardening as well as other work as identified by the Lead Maintenance Technician.

The successful candidate will be required to work across all services and the ideal base could be any of the following regions: Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire

Main Responsibility

  • Carry out routine scheduled maintenance and repair work.
  • Painting and decorating as required, in company offices and designated parts of services.
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to requests for repairs to specified properties
  • Accountable for the use and maintenance of tools provided by the company.
  • Carry out routine general maintenance of specified properties (residential environment and company offices), including small garden works, the removal of furniture, equipment, and excess rubbish.
  • Interact respectfully with service users and staff within any service and ensure that your work is carried out in a way that creates the least disruption.
  • Basic plumbing duties, leaking taps, repair toilet cistern components etc
  • Carry out any necessary minor refurbishments and adaptations to new and existing properties, including fitting of kitchen cupboards, installing furniture, fitting shelves, hanging curtains etc.
  • From time to time work flexible hours to suit the needs of the Company.
  • Liaise with outside contractors including electricians, gas fitters, builders, roofers etc.
  • Be aware of the company Health & Safety Policy and ensure that any requests concerning issues, which may prove a danger to others if left unattended, are addressed as a priority. If for any reason the problem cannot be rectified, it should be reported to the Lead Maintenance Technician as a matter of urgency.
  • Carry out limited on-call duties.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all paperwork and electronic information as directed – including job sheets/requests in support of the efficient running of the department.
  • Liaise with the Property Management Administrator in respect of any requests and the logging of completed work.
  • Keep up to date records of all purchases on account in the Company’s name (e.g., Trade or Soldo card purchases).
  • Very occasionally, overnight stays will be required.
  • Ensure the company values are understood and represented in the work carried out.
  • Responsible for own Health & Safety in respect of activities undertaken during duty and for assessing and reporting on any identified risks.

The Ideal Candidate

Experience and skills:

  • Evidenced experience of working successfully in a related discipline (E)
  • Experience and aptitude for completing general repairs and maintenance (E)
  • Effective communication skills (E)
  • IT Skills at a basic level and sufficient to interact with the company maintenance workflow system and send and respond to emails. (E)
  • A Full UK Driving License (E)
  • Clear Enhanced DBS (E)
