Operational Technology Demand Manager – Birmingham 

About the job.

National Highways has an exciting opportunity for an Operational Technology Demand Manager to join the Operations control Division. As Operational Technology Demand Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring Operational Technology (OT) resources and services are effectively planned and available to support Major Projects, Operations Renewals schemes and Service Delivery teams. Working across a diverse portfolio, you will coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to maintain alignment with operational, contractual and programme needs.

This position will be based from any of our UK offices with a balance of remote and office-based work.

  • Ensure provision of operational technology equipment to schemes and maintenance within manufacturing standard lead times, keeping on top of changes to those equipment needs
  • Frequent engagement with scheme demand and service delivery stakeholders to validate requirements and identify equipment needs. Use of ancillary equipment calculators to help resolve gaps/discrepancies in scheme requests
  • Notifying the relevant Commercial Managers when equipment suppliers are not meeting their obligations, or if risks and issues are identified which need their intervention
  • Engage with wider Operational technology teams such as Digital Services and Safety Engineering Standards to understand operational technology road maps
  • Track and monitor the national operational technology renewal plan to identify changes and understand and manage stakeholders requirements e.g. late demand requests

About you.

  • Data analysis skills; ability to produce and present clear, unambiguous data or information showing the position of Operational Technology supply and demand
  • Good Excel skills to allow for a data driven approach, including being able to join data sets, create pivot tables and use lookups
  • Experience working in a complex programme and project delivery environment
  • Understanding of Operational Technology scheme delivery and maintenance considerations i.e. service continuity, safety, change control (desirable).
  • Excellent communications skills and attention to details

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
