About the role

Are you passionate about improving local services and improving policy at Cambridgeshire County Council? 

Cambridgeshire County Council is on an ambitious journey to embed a culture where evidence and insight drive the decisions that improve services and change lives. We’re looking for a Performance & Intelligence Manager to play a pivotal role in delivering that vision.

Reporting to the Head of Policy, Performance & Intelligence, you’ll be the key link between our intelligence team and the organisation more widely,

The role will sit within Cambridgeshire County Council’s newly formed Policy, Performance & Intelligence Team. A team of 50 individuals who provide data, analysis insight and policy expertise to support the operational management and strategic planning of services.

We are a family-friendly employer and will be happy to negotiate on working arrangements to achieve a good work / life balance. The role is currently available on a permanent basis with the option of flexibility from full-time to a minimum 30 hours per week, with a provision for home working.

About you 

We are looking for an individual to champion performance, intelligence and analytics excellence across the organisation. You’ll bring:

  • Strong skills in data analysis, forecasting, modelling, and presentation.
  • A track record of influencing strategic decision-making through evidence and insight.
  • Experience in developing and monitoring performance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of local government datasets, statutory reporting, and inspection requirements.
  • The ability to translate complex data into compelling stories for decision-makers.

Good communication skills, both oral and written, are essential for this role, as the postholder will be required to present complex and sometimes technical information in appropriate forms for a wide range of audiences.
