MPS has recently launched its ‘New World’ strategy, designed to help us be better, bolder and drive our business forward for our members. As part of this strategy, we have an exciting opportunity for a Portfolio Assurance Analyst to join our Transformation Management Office!

We are looking for a Portfolio Assurance Analyst to support the Governance and Assurance Manager in shaping and embedding Programme/Project Governance principles across the MPS change portfolio. This role will play a key part in ensuring the successful delivery of projects and initiatives that align with the strategic objectives of the business, ultimately driving the best outcomes for our members.

Your primary focus will involve monitoring and tracking Portfolio, Programme, and Project governance and assurance principles such as resource management, capacity, financials, risks, issues, benefits, and lessons learned. You will be responsible for compiling and reporting this data to support monthly reviews, ensuring projects stay on track and aligned with organisational goals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of governance frameworks and experience in tracking and reporting project performance. You’ll be detail-oriented, organised, and proactive in ensuring that the governance process runs smoothly across the portfolio.

Role Responsibility

As our new Portfolio Assurance Analyst, you will also:

  • Provide accurate reporting, analysis, and support to enable informed decision making across all governance.
  • Work with Project Manager’s in the delivery of projects in accordance with the governance standards.
  • Support the Assurance and Governance Manager in the development and maintenance of project standards
  • Focused review and support on portfolio/programme/project planning including set up, maintenance and quality assurance
  • Conduct regular assurance reviews on projects and programmes of work
  • Provide monthly portfolio reporting such as resource management, planning, including pipeline and tracking of key milestones, financial planning / tracking, risk / issue management, benefits management and lessons learned

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for:

  • Previous PMO experience including portfolio reporting, analysis and producing inputs to senior level meetings
  • Experience of programme / project planning including quality assurance
  • Experience or exposure to the end to end project lifecycle, or managing substantial parts of the project lifecycle 
  • Knowledge of portfolio reporting and analysis 
  • Knowledge of full development life cycle projects
  • Experience of programme / project co-ordination
