Join the Kidswear team at Marks & Spencer on a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave, and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Kids category.
As Product Marketing Manager (Category Marketing Manager – Kids), you’ll exist to drive Kids category and product priorities—bringing product pull, sharp customer insight and true category clarity to the heart of Fashion marketing at M&S. Acting as the dedicated marketing partner to the Kids Business Unit, you’ll be fully embedded in BU product and planning cycles, ensuring category strategies, product stories and customer propositions are shaped early, grounded in insight, and delivered with consistency from concept to customer.
You’ll champion the customer voice at every stage—helping to elevate Kids storytelling through clear, product-led excellence. From influencing product development and seasonal planning to defining hero lines and commercial priorities, you’ll ensure the right stories are told in the right way, at the right time.
Working closely with the Head of BU Marketing, Strategy & Planning, and Brand Marketing campaign leads, you’ll support the development and execution of the Kids category marketing strategy—feeding into the annual and seasonal marketing plan. In partnership with Brand Marketing, you’ll identify hero product lines for key campaigns, aligning commercial priorities with compelling creative to drive impact across channels.

What you’ll do
Your key accountabilities will include
- . Translate Kids product and range plans into clear, insight-led category stories, defining how categories show up across the year
- Represent the customer voice at the start of the product process
- Input into Kids planning for key seasonal and campaign moments (e.g. Value, Summer, Autumn, Events, Gifting, Christmas)
- Create clear Kids category propositions and briefs to hand over to Brand Marketing
- Partner with .COM, Digital Trading and Merchandising to:
- align Kids category priorities
- support seasonal planning workshops
Who you are
Your skills and experience will include
- Deep understanding of Kids or fashion categories, customer behaviour and fashion cycles
- Proven ability to translate product and insight into compelling category strategies and product concepts and stories
- Commercially minded with a strong understanding of trade and performance drivers
- Skilled in insight translation, storytelling and briefing
- Clear, confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills
