About us
This post represents a unique opportunity to join leaders from the AIMS-2-TRIALS research consortium ( https://aims-2-trials.eu) – the world’s largest autism research consortium – to coordinate work that will produce and promote impact from this project at a European level/scale.
About the role
The successful candidate will join a world class academic team of experts in neurodevelopment, who are situated in international networks (e.g., http://aims-2-trials.eu; https://candy-project.eu; https://www.r2d2-mh.eu/).
The postholder will be responsible for delivering the Impact Strategy for AIMS-2-TRIALS, the world’s largest autism research consortium. This will include liaising with relevant stakeholders (including the EU Parliament, the European Commission, EFPIA, EMA, industrial partners, academic partners, media organisations, charities, and the broader autism community). The postholder will be responsible for disseminating policy insights and contributing to the development of autism and rare genetic conditions policy in Europe.
The post holder will coordinate impact resulting from the work of this research group to ensure maximal and optimal exploitation of the research infrastructure and results. This spans from strategic dissemination of the research (e.g., scientific publications/conferences, public engagement), through sustainability efforts (e.g., consolidating and building upon our research networks and infrastructure, database), to real world clinical and policy applications (e.g., engaging with policy makers and industry at the national and European level).
This is a Full-Time post, offered on a fixed term contract until 30th November 2026.
Research staff at King’s are entitled to at least 10 days per year (pro-rata) for professional development. This entitlement, from the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, applies to Postdocs, Research Assistants, Research and Teaching Technicians, Teaching Fellows and AEP equivalent up to and including grade 7. About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Neuroscience, Biology), at a minimum.
- Experience working in a policy context.
- Experience liaising with a range of stakeholders, such as industrial partners, charities, policy makers.
- Skills in communicating complex ideas to a range of audiences.
- Broad knowledge of autism research and rare genetic conditions linked to neurodevelopmental delay.
- Knowledge of the European policy, research and regulatory landscapes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel to meet stakeholders within Europe.
Desirable criteria
- Experience with media and communications roles.
- Experience in working with European policy makers, public affairs, and/or advocacy environments.
- Understanding of the heterogeneous perspectives of the autistic and rare genetic conditions communities
