We’re looking for an experienced and commercially astute Senior Manager – Procurement to establish and lead a newly created procurement function that will play a pivotal role in delivering value, strengthening governance and supporting the high-quality care our communities rely on.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you’ll lead the development and delivery of Jewish Care’s procurement strategy, ensuring procurement becomes a trusted strategic partner across the organisation.

You’ll:

  • Develop and implement our three-year procurement strategy aligned to organisational priorities.
  • Lead strategic sourcing and category management across both operational and capital expenditure.
  • Drive commercial value, measurable savings and continuous improvement across all areas of spend.
  • Build strong supplier partnerships while ensuring robust contract management and performance monitoring.
  • Develop procurement policies, governance frameworks and controls that support compliance and reduce organisational risk.
  • Use data, market insight and supplier intelligence to inform sourcing decisions and improve commercial outcomes.
  • Lead and develop a specialist procurement team, creating a high-performing, customer-focused culture.
  • Partner with senior leaders across the organisation to strengthen procurement capability and embed best practice.

About you

You’ll be an experienced procurement leader who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to delivering results.

You’ll bring:

  • MCIPS qualification (essential).
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • Significant senior procurement experience across a broad range of direct and indirect spend categories.
  • A proven track record of delivering measurable commercial savings and value.
  • Experience leading strategic sourcing, category management and supplier relationship programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement governance, contract management and risk management.
  • Excellent commercial judgement, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and executive leadership teams.
  • The ability to build relationships, lead change and inspire confidence across a complex organisation.

Experience within healthcare, social care, hospitality or another service-led environment would be advantageous.
