About the role 

Do you want to make a real difference to children with disabilities and their families? Are you passionate about ensuring every child grows up with the right support that will give them the same opportunities as other children?  If so please read on!

The Disability Social Care 0-25 Service has an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join our specialist Disabled Children’s Social Work North Team. 

The team provide a high quality and effective social work service responding to the needs of the children and their families in a timely manner and within statutory guidelines. We assess need, plan and deliver focused intervention to safeguard children, and promote positive outcomes.

This is a brilliant opportunity to be part of a lively and dynamic team on a full time, permanent basis. We are a strong team who communicate well and support each other to put children at the centre of everything we do. We would love for you to join us and experience this for yourself.

The role is hybrid with a mix of home and office working.  The office is located at either Scott House, Huntingdon or Awdry House, Wisbech and Social Workers are generally expected to be here once or twice a week after their induction period. We support flexible working requests from day one of employment and so we are open to discussing different working patterns, in line with the needs of the service, to help you bring your best self to work.

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have an understanding of relevant SEND legislation and policy, along with knowledge of the factors that lead to improved outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

You will be a confident and dynamic individual who enjoys making a difference in their local community. Curious to explore possibilities, you’ll spot things that others might not see and enjoy building relationships.

You must:

  • Be a qualified Social Worker with a Social Work England registration
  • Have the ability to work from a variety of locations and travel countywide independently
