Role responsibilities
As a Fleet Manager you will be responsible for leading the management of Stadler fleet/s owned by TFWRL, bringing together technical, operational and contractual elements to ensure safety, reliability, availability, customer experience and value for money are all maximised.

Who we’re looking for

This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team during an exciting time of transformation and growth at Transport for Wales Rail Limited. We are looking to appoint a candidate who is skilled and experienced in a comparable role, and eager for this next challenge.

  • Lead the day-to-day relationship with Stadler teams to deliver a safe, reliable and available fleet for operation for the customers of Transport for Wales. Ensure that the relevant contractual requirements are delivered.
  • Work closely with TFWRL production teams to understand availability and maintainability challenges and lead heavy maintenance planning activities with TFWRL planning teams.
  • Work with the Asset Management and Engineering team to ensure that fleet performance is managed with solutions identified and implemented to meet and succeed contractual levels.

Essential requirements to be considered for this role:

  • Relevant demonstratable industry experience.
  • Relevant maintenance or engineering background
  • Experience of managing contracts
  • Knowledge of relevant specifications, rail industry standards and railway Group Standards
  • An effective communicator and influencer with a diplomatic ability to influence others at all levels of the business

Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
