The Global Student Recruitment and Admissions directorate delivers marketing, student recruitment and admissions services in partnership with Faculties, creating strategies to attract growing numbers of students from across global markets, as well as from the UK.
 
As a directorate we are responsible for the delivery of student recruitment targets, ensuring cohesive recruitment strategies and planning from lead generation and attraction, via admissions, through to conversion and enrolment.
 
The UK & International Student Recruitment team are our market experts delivering student recruitment and marketing activities to support and achieve the university’s student recruitment targets.

About the role

The UK Student Recruitment Officer is responsible for the delivery of student recruitment activity within the UK. Reporting to the Head of UK Student Recruitment, this role works closely with schools and teachers representing the university at fairs and events and visiting schools and colleges around the UK.
 
The Student Recruitment Officer will be a key ambassador for the university responsible for promoting its values and courses and ensuring that all recruitment activity is conducted in a professional and ethical manner.
 
The role holder will possess excellent knowledge of the UK market and how to engage and attract all students, from potential undergraduate to master’s students from all backgrounds and countries.
 
The successful candidate will be able to create and deliver engaging presentation to students and their parents/guardians.
 
Essential skills will include the ability to network and engage with the teachers and senior staff members of the schools within the UK market.
 
The role holder will be expected to provide insights and feedback to the Head of UK Student Recruitment and the directorate on market trends and potential opportunities, as well as reports on their activities un the UK to show the ROI and contribution to the overall university targets.
 
Regular travel is expected while undertaking the duties of the role.
 
This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
 

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
 
Essential criteria
  1. Educated to degree level.
  2. Excellent UK secondary and higher educational knowledge and experience.
  3. Confidence and skills to present complex and varied information to a large audience clearly and concisely.
  4. Experience of attending recruitment fairs, school visits, and college events.
  5. Possess the skills to build effective relationships and networks with different audiences.
  6. Excellent organisational skills to plan and execute highly professional events and presentations.
  7. Be able to understand the requirements of senior internal stakeholders’ information needs to analyse recruitment activity outcomes and share them effectively.
  8. Be able to work as part of a team to deliver the shared targets of the university.
  9. Ability to plan and execute an activity plan autonomously, on time and to budget.
Desirable criteria
  1. Experience of using CRM systems to manage and analyse student recruitment data and engage with audiences.
  2. Previous experience of working in a student recruitment team in the UK
  3. Previous experience of working in a Russell Group university
