Highway and Transport – Enhancing Lives, Building Communities

We have a fantastic opportunity within our Technical Team to join a front-facing service where the work spans multiple legislations.

The Technical Team oversees a wide range of mandated, regulated, and discretionary functions, collaborating closely with Town & Parish councils to customise services for local needs. We manage the adoption of public spaces, amenity land, and facilities, while also handling GIS (mapping system) data for amenity land and service delegation.

As a Technical Officer, you will monitor the preparation of public open spaces and liaise with developers to investigate complaints from the public and Town/Parish Councils. You will also research and analyse green infrastructure across Wiltshire and undertake surveys to assess the quality and quantity of assets and inspect and risk assess tombs/grave stones for public safety and when required close areas. You will liaise with our contractor to ensure that burials take place smoothly, driving is essential and a Council van will be provided.

We are looking for a candidate who has knowledge of Health and Safety and experience of undertaking risk assessments. To thrive in this role, you need to bring with yourself diplomacy, IT and communication skills. If you are organised and have the ability to analyse issues, we would love to hear from you.
