Test Analyst – Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear

  • This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with Greggs stakeholders, developers and 3rd party systems integrators to gain full understanding of the requirements to be delivered.
  • Utilising existing testing tools for full end to end test of the system
  • As part of the scrum team give test estimates for scoping, planning and execution of tests
  • Creation and execution of test scripts including running full regression tests and sharing results and risks with key stakeholders.
  • Logging issues within our defect tracking tool and ensure collaboration with the team to resolution

Ideal Candidate

You will fit right into this role if you:

  • Have a strong foundation in testing practices, including BDD with Cucumber, end-to-end automation using Playwright, CI/CD integration (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and basic performance testing with JMeter.

  • Are proficient in API testing (REST/SOAP) with tools like Postman and SoapUI, have a strong grasp of HTTP protocols and authentication methods (OAuth, API keys), and are skilled in validating JSON/XML payloads, headers, and response times.

  • Have experience with Azure Service Bus and messaging systems, including queues, topics, subscriptions, and dead-lettering, and are skilled in using tools such as Service Bus Explorer and testing asynchronous message flows in event-driven architectures.

  • Have strong SQL skills for backend data validation, with an understanding of NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB and MongoDB where applicable.

  • Are a strong team player, able to build good working relationships at all levels.

  • Have proven high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Have experience of, and the ability to, multi-task and work with multiple priorities calmly and at pace.

  • Are self-motivated, with the ability to work under pressure and use your own initiative.

  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience of analysing information and issues to identify current and potential problems.
