Transport Coordinator – Nottingham 

Enva is a leading provider of recycling and resource recovery solutions, helping businesses and communities across the UK manage their waste responsibly.

We’re looking for a Transport Co-ordinator to join our collections team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering Enva’s services day-to-day by creating efficient transport plans for roll-on/roll-off and skip vehicles, maximising productivity, and ensuring the highest levels of customer service.
You’ll be responsible for monitoring daily operations, proactively resolving issues, and liaising with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure smooth service delivery. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role for someone who thrives on organisation, problem-solving, and clear communication.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Create effective and efficient daily transport plans, assigning customer orders to the appropriate trucks and time slots.
  • Monitor the progression of deliveries and make adjustments to ensure all customer orders are completed on time.
  • Take ownership of day-to-day operational issues, liaising with drivers, customers, and internal departments to find positive solutions.
  • Conduct end-of-shift debriefs with drivers to capture and communicate information about the day’s activities.
  • Maintain accurate records in internal systems to ensure issues are logged and completed orders are processed and billed promptly.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise 

You’ll be a motivated and organised individual with excellent knowledge of route planning and the local area. You’ll be confident communicating with drivers, customers, and colleagues to achieve the best outcomes.

Essential:

  • At least 1 year’s experience as a Transport Planner/Co-ordinator in a fast-paced service delivery environment.
  • Strong planning and route efficiency skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and ability to act quickly under pressure.
  • Good knowledge of Working Time and Driving Legislation.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
You will work 45 hours per week with a one-hour lunch break, on a rolling two-shift pattern: 
W1: 6am – 4pm 
W2: 8am – 6pm 
Additional hours as required during peak season (Saturday morning rota) to maintain the safe and efficient running of the transport department.
