Children In Care Service – Empowering Young Lives

Are you passionate about making a difference to children, families and those harmed by crime? If you are dedicated, compassionate, and committed to safeguarding and supporting people harmed by crime, children and their families, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position.

The Youth Justice Service provides positive, preventative, out of court, and statutory interventions to improve children’s safety and wellbeing and prevent offending or re-offending.

As a Youth Justice Worker you will work in the multi-agency Youth Justice Service, where you will contribute to a range of integrated services for children, their families and the Courts to prevent and reduce the risk of offending. You will work with families and children and identify who is at risk of entering the Youth Justice System, displaying vulnerabilities, going missing and those at risk of being exploited.

You will support children and families to be more involved with their local community to access wider opportunities and work directly with children and provide tailored support to address a range of developmental needs including challenging and disruptive behaviour.

To excel in this role, you should possess an NVQ Level 4 or have equivalent significant experience in a relevant field and proven engagement with children aged 10-17. A solid understanding of child/adolescent development, risks, and indicators of exploitation, as well as experience in working within youth justice, alongside vulnerable children, and exploitation, is crucial.
