Overview

Can I borrow 30 seconds?

When we speak to youth workers and educators, they often tell us they’re:

  • Frustrated that too many roles focus on ticking boxes instead of changing lives.
  • Disappointed when promised “impact” but given little more than admin and targets.
  • Unsure how to combine qualification delivery with the kind of pastoral care that really helps young people grow.

I get the impression none of these apply to you?
They do? Thought so. Well, I’ve had my 30 seconds. Give me a minute more and read on…

The role

This is a frontline role where your care, consistency, and communication make the difference.
As a Youth Worker at Get Set UK, you’ll help young people across Belfast build confidence, resilience, and direction through structured learning and meaningful support.

You’ll deliver accredited qualifications and personal development programmes that prepare young people for the next stage in life — whether that’s further education, training, or employment.
From the first action plan to the final celebration of achievement, you’ll play a vital role in unlocking potential and shaping brighter futures.

You’ll:

  • Deliver personal and social development, employability learning, and accredited qualifications (RRQ Preparation for Work and Foundations for Learning and Life).

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate learning that meets individual and programme goals.

  • Engage and enrol young people by working with local partners and community networks.

  • Take a target-focused approach, ensuring cohorts are full and outcomes are achieved.

  • Provide consistent pastoral care and 1:1 support to keep learners motivated.

  • Ensure safeguarding, compliance, and data standards are maintained throughout delivery.

  • Adapt sessions to meet local needs and diverse learning abilities.

  • Maintain accurate learner records, progress tracking, and outcome documentation.

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues, funders, and partners to ensure joined-up support.

The person

Let me ask you:

  • Do you hold a PGCE, CIT, or Level 3/4 Youth Work qualification that covers planning, delivering, and evaluating learning with young people?

  • Or, if you hold a Youth Work qualification, are you willing to begin the CIT within 2 years?

  • Do you have experience delivering youth programmes or qualifications in personal development or employability?

  • Are you confident working with young people who face barriers and need consistent encouragement?

  • Do you see challenge as motivation and outcomes as the real measure of success?

If you’re saying yes, this role is built for you.

What’s in it for you?

  • Salary of £25,000 to £30,000 (Pro Rata) depending on experience and qualifications
  • Immediate access to wellbeing tools (GP, counselling, Headspace).
  • Enhanced healthcare, lifestyle rewards, pension, and salary sacrifice options.
  • Structured development through our Your Career, Your Journey framework.
  • The chance to make real impact in Belfast by combining education, mentoring, and pastoral care.

Our values

We live them in every role:

  • Be Ambitious: act with drive and purpose.
  • Be Inspiring: empower and uplift others.
  • Be Proud: take ownership and celebrate success.
  • Be Considerate: collaborate and respect others.
  • Own it: show up and do what’s needed.

So let’s finish with one last question:

If we could give you the chance to use your qualifications, care, and consistency to empower young people into brighter futures — is there any reason you wouldn’t apply today?
