Maths Lecturer (.7 fixed term)

Lewisham College requires a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Maths Lecturer (part time, fixed term) to join our team.

The main responsibilities of this role include the delivery and assessment of high-quality learning programmes across a range of levels, as well as undertaking a range of programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties.

Successful applicants will be prepared to teach Maths to young people and adults at a range of levels up to GCSE (training/support offered). Understanding the challenges of students with numeracy needs would be an advantage.

The candidate must be qualified to degree level, hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and mathematics qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe. It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective programme leadership in FE and a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice.

An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines and strong oral and written communication skills are essential requirements. The hours of work may include evenings and weekends, according to demand. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join a well-motivated, cohesive and successful team.
