The opportunity

 

We’re recruiting for an Occupational Health Nurse to join our team on a permanent basis at Dungeness B. As an Occupational Health Nurse, you’ll offer a focused driven mind-set for all Occupational Health matters liaising with staff as appropriate. 

Staff will range from new to legacy EDF employees also including line manager, and HR professionals, where you will provide comprehensive advice and guidance on statutory legislation affecting Occupational Heath for our EDF employees. 

   

5 days a week on site at our Dungeness B site, at 37 hours per week, we can be flexible with start times, i.e. 8AM – 4PM or 9AM – 5PM etc.

There will be opportunities where over time and extra shifts will be required, the shifts on the weekend will be paid at double time, and your over time will be paid at time and a half! This will be on ad hoc basis, but with plenty of advance notice, approx. for a few hours every 1 to 2 months.

We can offer a competitive salary starting from £30,650 for the right Occupational Health Nurse and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience, and qualifications.

This role will require several security checks, due to these candidates will need to hold a British Nationality or Citizenship and have 3+ years of UK working experience.

 

What you’ll be doing…

 

As our next Occupational Health Nurse, you will offer a focused driven mind-set for all Occupational Health matters liaising with staff as appropriate. You will provide comprehensive advice and guidance on statutory legislation affecting Occupational Heath for our EDF employees. 

  

  • Conduct Health Surveillance, which may include spirometry, audiology, skin assessment, hand arm vibration and radiation worker medicals within the specified timings, service level agreement (SLA) requirements and operational requirements.  
  • Conduct Fitness for Work Medicals, MyHealth First Assessments (employee wellbeing) Conduct Drug and Alcohol testing.
  • Provide advice on mental health issues, utilising the mental health indicator tools.
  • Organise health promotion information and liaise with outside organisations as appropriate.
  • Update and maintain accurate health records.
  • Assist the Occupational Health Advisor in monitoring compliance with statutory requirements and collate relevant data.

 

Who you are…

 

  • As a minimum requirement, you will need to hold a Registered Nurse qualification.   
  • Occupational Health experience including fitness for work medicals, health surveillance and health promotion are essential; it would also be desirable to have experience with Drug and Alcohol testing and basic case management, although training will be given.
  • Working within Service Levels Agreements and Key Performance Indicators
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • You will be required to provide evidence of the qualifications you currently hold.

This role will conduct two stages of interview, Teams Video calls will be completed in August and face to face station interviews will be completed in the beginning of September.

 

You will receive 28 days annual holiday plus bank holidays, incremental and competency-based progression, and a Company pension scheme. The pension scheme starts at 5% employee contribution matched with 10% company contribution, rising to up to 15% after 24 months if employee increase to 7.5%.
