Associate / Senior Legal Counsel

Salary: Up to £105,000 & car allowance (depending on experience)

Location: Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire, 2 days on site

Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel based in our head office, we are seeking a full time Senior Legal Counsel to be part of our 20+ legal and compliance team to:

  • Act as the primary contact for senior stakeholders in a range of business units and corporate support departments, including the Purchasing team.

  • Review, draft and negotiate high-value, complex contracts with customers, sales intermediaries, strategic partners and suppliers.

  • Support the Data Protection Officer in reviewing, drafting and negotiating data processing agreements, training colleagues and advising on privacy matters.

  • Advise the business on e-commerce matters and the commercialisation of software products.

  • Line manage a legal and compliance colleague, with opportunities for additional management responsibilities as the team grows.

  • Lead cross-functional teams in business change projects that support the business’ key objectives across multiple disciplines.

  • Build relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the business to help influence and implement business strategy and direction.

  • Support and deputise as required for the Deputy General Counsel in your areas of expertise.

About you

For this pivotal role, you will:

  • Have at least 5 years’ experience in delivering pragmatic legal and compliance advice in a demanding and ever-changing business environment.

  • Be conversant in intellectual property and commercial law.

  • Have experience reviewing and advising on master services agreements, software licenses, SaaS and support and maintenance agreements, and privacy matters.

  • Display impeccable integrity and a willingness and ability to lead by example.

  • Show a passion for technology and innovation, and bringing about business change.

  • Have in-house experience or be able to display a deep understanding of the challenges a fast-moving revenue generating business faces.

  • Show an appetite to continually learn and share your experience and knowledge.
